The 2023 edition of Fleet Europe Days has come to an end. The top event for fleet and mobility decision makers, which took place in Lisbon on the 22nd and 23rd of November, has brought together industry leaders for an international conference on the transformative journey of the mobility sector and its latest innovations and challenges. Arval, a prominent figure in full-service leasing and mobility solutions, stood out with the presence of Deputy CEO Bart Beckers, alongside International Business Office Director Julie Meynard and Mobility Director Amélie Phelip, all three at the forefront of thoughtful topic discussions on the theme of “Destination Zero: Adopt & Adapt”. Arval Chairman and CEO Alain van Groenendael and Deputy CEO François-Xavier Castille, as well as the Arval teams representing IBO, Procurement, Retail and Communications were also present for this year’s edition.
Inspiring Women in Fleet
Starting the event was Julie Meynard, who took up the stage for the breakfast session of Inspiring Women in Fleet, where she displayed Arval’s engagement to promote its commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. When asked why Arval supports this initiative, Julie emphasized the dedication to nurturing a workplace culture rooted in diversity and equality, by sharing her experience in the Women in Action (WIA) programme. This was initiated as part of the Arval Beyond strategy, to cultivate a community actively promoting gender equality, multiculturalism, and equal chances for people with disabilities. The programme’s aim is to reshape perspectives and elevate women into leadership position, by constantly developing their skills and capabilities in the workplace. Now leading the International Business Office, Julie serves as a testament to the programme’s success, as she states:
“Participating in the Women in Action Programme was an opportunity and a clear acknowledgement from the company. We as women at Arval are a real community, and we get to share a space to talk about our own ambitions, our vision of the company, and our best practices. For me, Women in Action has been an incredible journey, personally and professionally."

Arval and Ridecell Presentation of Shared Mobility Solutions
The next segment of the event shifted towards mobility, with a presentation given by Amélie Phélip, in collaboration with Mark Thomas, EVP Marketing & Alliances at Ridecell, on the theme “Thought Leadership – Your EV fleet, charged and ready”. During this talk session, Amélie explored Arval’s position in the evolving landscape of shared mobility, and the current advancements in B2B shared mobility, highlighting a renewed focus for companies in supporting their employees for enhanced mobility experiences. The introduction of car sharing solutions and mobility budgets such as the recently launched Arval Mobility Pass, as well as the analysis of the latest client use cases – ranging from companies with traditional fleets and pool cars to retailers and real estate - have expanded the scope of discussion. This uncovered Arval’s standpoint in regards to sustainability goals, B2B car sharing dynamics, flexible and digital tool implementation in its services, and multi-mobility solution offerings. Amélie shared:
“I am happy to have showcased during the event the booming renewed interest for shared mobility, illustrated with 5 concrete client use cases. Its success can be explained by all the benefits that align with sustainability, flexibility and costs efficiency objectives, and also by the scalability of Arval offer, that we developed together in partnership with Ridecell worldwide.“

The CEO Panel
Leaving the event’s most important and traditional segment for last was the Executive Panel Discussion, hosting Arval’s Deputy CEO Bart Beckers alongside other industry leaders, to answer questions on their respective company’s growth, TCO management and their sustainability approach. During the talk, Bart demonstrated Arval’s strong performance in the first half of 2023, and provided valuable information on the current state of the market, with a particular focus on OEM offers, EV affordability and the new re-leasing scheme. He then put forward Arval’s role in supporting customers with innovative mobility solutions, and the integration of consulting, data analysis and connectivity in its electrification and cost optimization strategies, to accelerate the pace towards the sustainable targets set for 2025. Bringing the event to a close, Bart declares:
“Arval’s growth and build-up revenue are increasing, and we are well on track with the current Arval Beyond Plan. We will keep up the rhythm following these successful results, and we will expect even higher performances in terms of fleet growth. Our advisory role remains essential in identifying and implementing the best transition solutions for our customers, and so we will continue our commitment to sustainable mobility, especially fleets’ electrification, for the years to come.”
