Lightyear and Arval join forces on sustainable mobility

Lightyear – the Dutch high-tech company producing the world’s first solar-powered electric car, Lightyear 0, – has signed a pre-order agreement with Arval, Europe’s #1 full service multibrand vehicle leasing company, and key player in sustainable mobility solutions owned by the BNP Paribas Group. The pre-order entails 10,000 units of Lightyear 2, Lightyear’s accessible mass-market model. With that, the company has a new go-to mobility partner for corporate clients and consumers to experience solar-electric mobility in Arval’s key markets in Europe. The grand total of Lightyear 2 pre-orders from B2B partners now exceeds 21,000 units, corresponding to a revenue of nearly €840 million. This news comes one week after Lightyear has opened the Lightyear 2 waitlist for consumers to get priority in the pre-order process later this year.

Arval announces closing of transaction to acquire Terberg Business Lease Group

Arval, part of BNP Paribas Group, announces the completion of the acquisition of Terberg Business Lease Group B.V. (TBLG) in the Netherlands and Belgium by its Dutch subsidiary Arval B.V. (Arval), which was announced earlier this year. Arval acquires 100% of the shares from its shareholders Royal Terberg Group and AutoBinck Group.

Arval 2022 half-year results

Arval’s activity continued to develop well in the first half of 2022 thanks to the quality of its services and the strength of its business model: the leased fleet grew by 5.9% compared to the end of June 2021reaching 1,500,536 vehicles despite longer delivery time for new cars in connection with the shortage of semi-conductors and a challenging overall context in the automotive sector.
